We list rental websites for 14 countries. We have checked the local rules for 2 of them so far, and the page tells you which.

Why this one exists
The rules matter more than the listings
Anyone can find a rental site. What loses people a flat is a guarantor requirement or a deposit rule nobody mentioned.
Where people actually look
The portals used in each country, not the ones that rank well in English.
And an honest count of what we do not have
Portals for fourteen countries; local rules for two of them so far. The other twelve say "portals only" on the page rather than pretending.
Common questions
Should I sign anything before I arrive?
Be very careful. Deposit fraud aimed at international students is common and the money is rarely recoverable. Never send a deposit for a property nobody you trust has seen.
What is a guarantor?
Someone resident in that country who is liable if you do not pay. France is the strictest about it. Several countries have paid services that act as one, at a cost.
Why are the rules missing for twelve countries?
Because sourcing them properly is about twelve days of work and it has not been done yet. That is a real gap and the page says so rather than filling it with generic advice.
